Introduction to Geology 1010
Within this class we discuss the political science and understandings of the way earths structure is the way that it is because of geological changes. We do critical thinking on our assignments and are tasked to think outside of our own mind structure. In this course you will start off knowing little about geology and will leave with a little more understanding in the subject.
As a human being you have every right to question your place in the universe, there are so many unsolved things and we can only take baby steps as we still continue to learn more about where we live; earth. Science is everything and everywhere, without science would we even be where we're at right now? The many forms of science are currently still helping discovering the mysterious of the earth and right now we need to do everything in our power to help it too, cutting to the point, I was tasked with a group to do a self guided field trip somewhere geological in Utah. We were to observe to geological environment around us, in doing so we found a lot of interesting things in the trails and mountains. Included in the slideshow above is some of the pictures I took from the experience.
"Bacteria mineralized the rocks; they deposited the iron. They made the geology we see".- Bonnie Bassler
As you can tell i'm not the best artist in the world, this is my interpretation on the trail that we took in bells canyon, located in Sandy. It was a very short trail and you can be at the lake in a short time of 10-15 minutes. We also visited the temple quarry that was located a few miles up the canyon if you pass bells canyon. It's in the midst of bells canyon and little cottonwood. There is also a place you can hike to rock climb the mountains, the mountains are very high up which can be intimidating.

To the right you can read my essay on my findings with more detail and more thorough explanation. Personally for me the biggest issue I had on this project was not paying too much detail to the geology around me. I was paying attention, just barely any critical thinking going around. If I were to start this over again from scratch I would do it in a heartbeat, I had a lot of fun doing this assignment. Relating this assignment to my other classes would be very hard to do because each class has its own identity and focus.
